Celebrity MasterChef Raises The Bar For Cooking Shows In India

Since its grand premiere on January 27, 2025, Celebrity MasterChef India has received great response in its first week, with fans & followers lauding the show for its world class culinary challenges & celebrity appeal. The season features a diverse line-up of celebrity contestants, from beloved television icons like Usha Nadkarni, Dipika Kakar, Nikki Tamboli, to digital sensation Faisu and home chefs like Kabita thus connecting with audiences across regions & generations. With Farah Khan being introduced as a host, and judges Vikas Khanna, Ranveer Brar the show has successfully retained its long time fans while engaging a whole new set of viewers. The show and its content has been dominating media conversations.
In its debut week, Celebrity Masterchef featured a series of never seen before challenges pushing contestants to showcase not only their culinary skills but also their ability to perform under intense pressure. The show has delivered standout moments where Nikki Tamboli's Litti Choka Tacos received a perfect score while she makes a humorous confession about never having eaten brinjal before attempting to cook it! The audience was amazed by the culinary skills of Faisu, the boy from Behrampada, who is now a digital sensation, as he excelled in cooking challenges with unmatched passion and dedication. Gaurav Khanna was lauded by judges as he prepared the perfect Turkish Poached Egg, despite being a vegetarian and not being able to taste it himself. Dipika Kakkar broke down in tears, sharing her emotional journey of representing home cooks, while Usha Tai was seen bringing in the fun with her witty remarks and hilarious comments.
The first episode challenge was inspired by ancient Harappan civilization, where contestants worked with 4,000-year-old ingredients where Nikki Tamboli delivered the best dish of the episode. In the second episode, contestants had to create an egg white meringue, showcasing their creativity with such a simple yet versatile ingredient.
The competition took an exciting turn in episodes three and four, where contestants were teamed into two and assigned an Indian state and an international country, wherein, they had to create fusion dishes, drawing from the culinary influences of both locations. The final challenge pushed the concept even further, incorporating drinks representing their assigned locations, encouraging contestants to push the boundaries of creativity. The thoughtful execution of these challenges highlighted cultural diversity, history, innovation, and culinary experimentation.
The week concluded with The Final Challenge, where the contestants had to create a replica of 'Brahmand', a dish by Chef Vikas Khanna. Dipika triumphed in this ultimate test, securing the immunity pin for the week.
