If you remember, Filmibeat had exclusively reported about Parth Samthaan making an exit from CID 2 after Shivaji Satam's re-entry. The channel and the production house tried to squash the rumours but the 'writing was always on the wall'.

"Parth Samthaan might make an exit from CID season 2 as the makers are re-working on their plans to revive the show and bring back the lost viewership. ACP Ayushman might make an exit when ACP Pradyuman makes a full-fledged return to CID," a source told Filmibeat in April 2025.

Parth Samthaan has confirmed his departure from CID season 2, stating that he was always supposed to have a brief stint in the Sony TV show. Is it the real reason behind his exit from CID? An industry source denied the buzz, stating that Samthaan would have stayed if the ratings were improved.

WHY PARTH SAMTHAAN IS LEAVING CID 2? WHAT'S THE REAL REASON?

"Parth Samthaan was brought on board to spice up the viewership of the struggling show. Despite the promotions and nostalgia factor, CID season 2 failed to live up to the hype. While the channel left no stone unturned to promote the show, somehow it didn't click with the audience. The ratings kept on dwindling from February, reaching the 0.5 TVR mark. This was a sign of worry. The production house went into action mode, bringing a shocking twist. They decided to kill Shivaji Satam's character ACP Pradyuman, giving a shocker to the audience. This indeed created a lot of buzz for the show, but the ratings never crossed the 1-TVR mark," our khabri exclusively told Filmibeat.

If you believe that Parth Samthaan was supposed to have a cameo appearance in the show, you're mistaken. "The channel and the production house placed their bet on Parth, hoping to revive the show; however, the numbers never improved. If the TRPs would have increased, his track would have been extended as he was supposed to have a meaty track. He was paid a premium amount for his stint in CID 2," the source added.

The chances of Parth making a comeback as ACP Ayushman are nil at the moment.
