Gatha Shiv Parivaar Ki – Ganesh Kartikey: Nirbhay Wadhwa Opens Up On Playing Sindhurasur In The Show
The mythological drama Ganesh Kartikey on Sony SAB adds Sindhurasur to the Shiv Parivaar narrative, highlighting a past filled with rejection that drives a compelling, darker antagonist. Nirbhay Wadhwa delivers a nuanced portrayal, emphasising the character's emotional burden as the plot intensifies dharma and adharma within the family saga.

Nirbhay Wadhwa is joining Sony SAB’s mythological series Gatha Shiv Parivaar Ki – Ganesh Kartikey as Sindhurasur, adding a darker twist to the show. The drama, centred on Lord Shiv, Goddess Parvati, Lord Ganesh and Lord Kartikey, now moves into a more intense phase of conflict and destiny.
Sindhurasur enters the narrative as the asur destined to marry Tulsi, played by Geet Jain. This fate comes from a curse Lord Ganesha once gave Tulsi, after Tulsi cursed Lord Ganesha in anger. The track signals a turning point, bringing sharper emotional tension and moral challenges to Ganesh Kartikey.
Ganesh Kartikey cast and storyline
Gatha Shiv Parivaar Ki – Ganesh Kartikey presents lesser-known tales of the Shiv Parivaar while exploring dharma and adharma. Each storyline looks at spiritual duties alongside personal emotions, showing how divine responsibilities affect family bonds. The show steadily builds a larger universe, combining devotion, inner conflict and cosmic purpose.
Sindhurasur’s journey in Ganesh Kartikey begins with rejection rather than might. Born unwanted and raised without affection, the character slowly turns into a ruthless ruler. This background gives the storyline emotional weight, underlining how neglect, resentment and the lure of power shape decisions and disturb the balance of dharma.
Ganesh Kartikey Nirbhay Wadhwa on Sindhurasur
Nirbhay Wadhwa, playing the role of Sindhurasur said, "When I first read about Sindhurasur, what struck me was how differently his story begins - not with power, but with pain. He isn't just an asur; he is someone shaped by rejection, by never being wanted. That emotional foundation makes him far more complex than a typical antagonist. I remember shooting my first scene, standing there in heavy armour, and the director whispered, 'Feel the weight of everything he was denied.' And suddenly, I understood him. Playing Sindhurasur is not just about fury or strength; it's about carrying a lifetime of hurt that eventually explodes into terror. This is one of the most layered characters I've taken on, and I'm excited for viewers to see how his arrival changes the entire rhythm of the story."
Ganesh Kartikey continues to build on these layered arcs through its current Sindhurasur track. The series airs on Sony SAB every Monday to Saturday at 8 PM, giving viewers regular insight into the evolving relationships, spiritual lessons and power struggles within the Shiv Parivaar’s world.
