Param Singh Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin interview: I strongly believe that every day should be celebrated Women's Day. After all, a man and a woman together make a society the perfect place to live in. It's always a treat to hear stories from actors, who are willing to share their thoughts on different topics.

Param Singh, who is currently seen as the male lead in Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin, opened up on moulding himself to match the thought process of his co-stars, with whom he has a significant age gap. From talking about feminism to revealing the role of male actors in supporting strong portrayals of women in shows and web series, the Sadda Haq barred his heart out in an exclusive interview with Filmibeat.

1. What role do you believe male actors play in supporting authentic portrayals of women on screen in recent times where women-oriented stories are being written?

In my opinion, every character in a project adds its own element to the story. Whether it's women or men centric projects, it's about how two people complement each other's character to make the script shine.Its like a recipe , where different ingredients come together as a full dish.

2. How has your understanding of feminism and equality evolved over time?

I think in the recent years people have started getting confused between feminism and equality.I believe in humanism.For me everyone is equal.Sometimes I feel strongly for feminism & sometimes I feel that there should be a movement for men as well cause there are lot of problems & responsibilities men have to deal with as well.Also I feel that it's high time women get their due & as individuals we should stand strong for them.I feel as individuals we need to urge that human beings are respected for who they are & not for their gender, religion, region, status or society.

3. You have had co-actors who have a significant age gap with you, how easy or difficult it is to mould to their line of thoughts. What's your formula for coming on the same page with them ?

I think it's good to work with younger coactors because it adds a fresh approach. Sometimes I get to learn from them and other times it's a fun vibe around them. They are easygoing, relaxed nature & hunger makes it a good space to learn. I like the freshness & the novelty they bring. I think my formula with all coactors irrespective of age is to accept them as they are and to go with the flow.

4. There's a saying that women mature before time whilst men gradually come to a steady pace after a certain age. Can you recall an instance in life where you once strongly disagreed with thoughts of someone which you now agree upon? How did you address that on realisation?

I can't particularly recall any such instance , however, my way to go about it would be more in action or gestures than words.For instance, if my reading of a situation seems blurry whilst that of the other person is vivid I would be okay thinking through their deliberations & accordingly make a choice.I feel there's no harm in saying a thank you or sorry if there's a need.

5. What lessons have you learnt from women around you ?

Empathy , the intent to sacrifice for people dear to me, skills to manage a household and the tendency to love unconditionally would be some of the lessons.
