Happu Ki Ultan Paltan Actress Sonal Panvar: Comedy Is Serious Work

Happu Ki Ultan Paltan actor Sonal Panvar, who is seen as Malaika in Sanjay and Binaiferr Kohli's show, which is produced under their banner Edit II, says comedy might look easy but is a difficult art.

She said, "I believe that comedy is serious work. It looks easy, but it's actually very tough. For example, when we're on set and doing a funny scene, everyone behind the camera is laughing, but we have to stay focused and deliver our lines without laughing. That takes skill. Comedy is not easy; it's a focused craft, and I think every actor wants to do it at some point."

When it comes to comedy, Sonal really admires Johnny Lever. She added, "His work still makes me laugh, even today. And of course, actors like Paresh Rawal, especially in Hera Pheri, are amazing. Govinda sir too! All of them have made me laugh really hard."

And in Bollywood, her favorite comedian would be Sunil Grover. She said, "He's just brilliant. If there's a word even bigger than greatest, I'd use that for him. And yes, I like Kapil Sharma too. He's amazing at managing his show and keeping the audience entertained. But Sunil Grover, for me, is on another level."

So what kind of comedy shows do you enjoy? "I enjoy Happu Ki Ultan Paltan. It's also my show, and I'm proud of it. I like Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah too. I used to enjoy Friends and similar shows as well. But one thing I don't like in today's comedy is the use of too much abusive content. I don't think that's real comedy. True comedy is found in everyday life, in simple, relatable moments, not in bad language," Sonal ended.
