Happy Holi 2025 | Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai Fame Shirin Sewani On Celebrating Holi With Son: Very Special…

Shirin Sewani, who has been a part of web series like Taj Mahal 1989, Beauty Spot, Backpackers, Dev DD, and Only For Singles, to name a few, is looking forward to celebrating Holi with her one-year-old son. She shared that last year on Holi he was just 15 days old, and now he is old enough to understand the festival and also play with colours.
She said, "This Holi is very special because it is technically my first proper Holi with Divyraj. Last year on his first Holi, he was just 15 days old, so he was too young to understand anything. But now, he observes things, and I am super excited! I feel that the first Holi should always be celebrated with family, so I will be playing my first Holi with my son, my family, and my close extended family."
'We plan to make it really special with lots of delicious food, and we will celebrate at our house in our personal space with loved ones, and it will be full of colours, fun, and good food," she added.
The beautiful actress also shared that she resonates with the yellow colour the most because "it's like sunshine-bright and full of energy," she said, adding, "I believe I need to radiate light and positivity like that. Yellow is vibrant, and I feel I relate to it because I enjoy life, love to stand out, and make a statement."
Well, she is not too proud of it, but she likes to play a wild Holi. She said, "I play 'jungli Holi' with all kinds of colours, with pakka rang, water, and everything possible. But now that I am a mother, I try to be a little more responsible. Holi is one of my favourite festivals, so I love to go all out when celebrating it."
However, she stressed that people should avoid water balloons and mentioned that playing Holi is a personal choice. She said, "Water balloons should be avoided because they can hurt people. Holi should be about fun, and it should always be a personal choice. If someone doesn't enjoy Holi or is scared of certain things, we should never force them to play."
"Play Holi only with those who are happy to play Holi and want to play in a way they want; just do not push or force them for anything," she added.
Her best Holi memories are from her childhood. She said, "I used to play Holi with my friends, and that's where my 'jungli Holi' spirit comes from! We would prepare buckets of water balloons the night before and wake up early, all set to play. I also have lovely memories of eating gujiyas and gevar made at home and then playing with colours all day."
But she uses the age-old method of applying oil before playing Holi, something that her mother has taught her. She said, "I still follow this to this day. Along with that, sunscreen, face oil, and hair oil are a must for me before stepping out to enjoy the Holi."
But keeping the social media craze in mind, she wears white clothes to make it look more aesthetically pleasing. She said, "But earlier, we never really thought about it! We used to wear old clothes because we knew they would get completely stained. The feeling of Holi is still the same, but yes, now I make an effort to wear white or light-coloured clothes for the Holi."
