How Kundali Bhagya Fame Roma Arora Pursued Acting Ditching Medicine & Surgery, “I Constantly Evolve…”

Doctor turned model and actress Roma Arora, who was last seen in TV shows like Jhanak, Kathaa Ankahee and Kundali Bhagya, is currently the lead actress in a live theatre play titled "Pyar mein Twist".
The actress shares that if she hadn't ventured into the entertainment industry, she would have pursued a career as a doctor.
"I come from a family of doctors-both my parents and my brother are doctors, and I also completed my Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery. If I hadn't pursued acting, I would have been practicing medicine in Delhi, seeing patients daily. However, my love for travel, meeting new people, and exploring new experiences led me to Mumbai. As an actor, I get to live a life that's far beyond the confines of a clinic. I play diverse characters, work with different people, and constantly evolve, which gives me a unique boost in life. I feel truly fulfilled in my journey as an actor, and I'm incredibly happy with the path I've chosen," she says.
Roma has showcased her versatility by playing a pivotal role in the short film "The Coldest Revenge", written by Vikram Bhatt, available on MX Player. She has also appeared in the web series Phone-a-Friend on the Zee5 app. Additionally, she played the lead role in a Gujarati film "Aastha" released in 2019. Beyond acting, Roma is a celebrated host and narrator for the live Bollywood musical shows "Ek Haseen Shaam" 2019 and "Krazy for Kishore" 2024 performing all across the USA.
Talking about her journey, she says, "For me, it's about being true to who I am, staying humble, and remaining grounded. Life has shown us time and again, especially during the COVID pandemic, that we are all equal in the face of challenges. That experience reminded us how insignificant ego and self-promotion can be. I believe that authenticity and humility are what truly define a person, and I choose to live by those values because they feel natural and meaningful."
She adds, "My mother was a dedicated doctor who continued to work during the COVID times, even in the face of great risk. During the second wave, we tragically lost her. She could have chosen not to attend to COVID-positive patients, but her unwavering belief that work is worship and that your work should speak for itself drove her to keep going. She took her last breath while doing what she loved-helping others. I have learned so much from her commitment and her dedication to her profession, and I truly believe that work should be a reflection of one's character. My mother is a true Corona Warrior, and her selfless dedication remains a beacon of strength and inspiration in my life."
