Indian Idol 16: Jaspinder Narula Gets Nostalgic On Indian Idol: Recalls Recording Her First Song In One Take

Jaspinder Narula Gets Nostalgic On Indian Idol

The grand premiere of Indian Idol 16 turned into a night filled with nostalgia, music, and emotion as the show kicked off its 'Yaadon Ki Playlist' theme with a spectacular 'Premiere Party'. The stage glittered with legendary guests - Urmila Matondkar, Sukhwinder Singh, Hans Raj Hans, and Jaspinder Narula, who joined judges Shreya Ghoshal, Vishal Dadlani, and Badshah to celebrate the start of a brand-new musical journey.

One of the most heartfelt highlights of the evening came when Contestant Shreya performed the soulful 'Taare Hain Baraati.' The young contestant's emotional rendition moved everyone, especially Jaspinder Narula, who was transported back to her childhood memories.

Jaspinder, visibly emotional, shared how the song took her back to the very beginning of her musical journey. "You attempting it itself is a great thing," she said warmly. "Considering you can sing it at such a young age is wonderful. I had first heard this song when I was about seven or eight years old, when a record had come out of Reshma ji, I think. My cousin made me listen to it, and I started singing it then. I actually did this song in one take."

Her nostalgic recollection, from hearing the song as a little girl to recording it professionally in a single take added a heartfelt depth to the evening. The moment captured not just her admiration for the contestant but also her own emotional connection to the song and its legacy.

After the performance, the atmosphere turned magical when Shreya Ghoshal and Jaspinder Narula took to the stage together to sing 'More Piya' from Devdas, marking a soulful reunion after 23 years since they first recorded it for the iconic film's soundtrack. Their duet left both the judges and audience spellbound.

With nostalgia, emotion, and an unforgettable reunion between two powerhouse singers, the Yaadon Ki Playlist Premiere Party episode of Indian Idol 16 promises to be one of the season's most memorable nights.

Tune in to catch all the magical moments on Indian Idol 16, every Sat-Sun at 8 PM, only on Sony Entertainment Television and Sony LIV.
