Jamai No 1 Star Simaran Kaur Embraces The Serenity Of Yoga On International Yoga Day: It Gives Me Sukoon

Jamai No 1 Star Simaran Kaur

As the world celebrates International Yoga Day, actress Simaran Kaur who is currently seen as Riddhi Chotwani in Jamai No. 1, reflects on how yoga has been a steady source of peace, strength, and grounding in her life. Known for her work on television and admired for her calm, positive aura, Simaran believes that yoga is much more than a fitness routine-it's a way of life.

"In today's fast-paced world, where everyone is rushing and constantly stimulated, yoga brings me sukoon-a deep sense of peace," says Simaran with a warm smile. "I've been practicing yoga since my school days, and it's something I truly cherish."

Describing her daily practice, Simaran reveals that she starts every session with basic stretching. "Before diving into yoga, I always do some stretching to open up the joints and relax the body," she explains. "It prepares me physically and mentally for the deeper aspects of the practice."

Once her body is warmed up, she moves on to breathing exercises, particularly Anulom Vilom, a form of alternate nostril breathing known to balance the mind and purify the nervous system. "These breathing techniques help me align my energy. They're simple yet extremely powerful."

Simaran, who enjoys staying active through dance and aerobics, still finds herself gravitating toward yoga for its meditative benefits. "I love dancing, I enjoy aerobics too, but yoga hits differently. It connects me to myself," she says.

Interestingly, her preferred yoga setting isn't a gym or a studio-but the outdoors. "I love doing yoga in open spaces, especially surrounded by nature. There's something magical about the fresh air, the sounds of birds, and feeling the earth beneath. It heightens the entire experience."

Simaran's sessions always begin with the age-old practice of Surya Namaskar or Sun Salutation. "It's a beautiful, holistic way to start the routine. It energizes the whole body, strengthens the core, and builds flexibility," she shares. After that, she transitions into various asanas, tailoring her practice based on how she feels each day.

For Simaran, yoga isn't just a physical discipline-it's deeply spiritual. "Meditation is an integral part of my yoga practice. It centers me and gives clarity. It's where I find my stillness," she adds.
