Jamai No 1 Star Simaran Kaur: I Feel Lucky To Be An Actor In Today’s Time As Stores Are Bold, Sensitive, Raw.

Simaran Kaur, who is seen as Riddhi in Prateek Sharma and Parth Shah's Jamai No. 1, which is produced under the banner Studio LSD Limited, continues to evolve as an actor with every character she takes up. However, she did not shy away from acknowledging that the struggle never really ends in the entertainment industry.

She said, "The struggle never entirely ends. Yes, it evolves-after years of experience, you may not be chasing roles anymore, but now you're choosing projects wisely and balancing your identity both on and off screen. It's a constant dance between ambition and staying grounded."

And while the job may seem all about the glitz and glamour from the outside, the actress admitted that it demands far more than what people can see. "It takes your time, emotions, physical energy, and sometimes even your personal life. Every new role brings a new challenge. Even if you feel confident, the responsibility of doing justice to the character is always there," she said.

Her creative inspiration comes from her own personal emotions. She said, "I write, dance, do workouts and I watch great cinema that moves me. Also, taking time for myself, even just a walk in nature or a quiet cup of tea, allows my mind to reset and reconnect with my core."

With digital feedback coming every second, she pointed out that though she doesn't let it affect her performances, she understands its importance. She said, "Social media makes you instantly aware of what people think. While I don't base my performances solely on feedback, I do pay attention to what audiences connect with. If it aligns with the story and my character, I'm open to shaping certain nuances."

Asked her to comment on the future of storytelling, Simaran said, "I feel lucky to be an actor in today's time. Stories are bold, sensitive, raw, and diverse. There are so many unique narratives being told, especially on OTT platforms, and that excites me. We're not just playing characters anymore-we're representing real people and real struggles."
