Rajat Verma Shares What Fashion Means To Him

Actor Rajat Verma, who has been part of shows like Beyhadh 2, Dahej Daasi, Ishq Par Zor Nahi and the current Jamuniya, says that fashion is a big part of who he is. He adds that it helps him express his choices, as well as keeps him comfortable.

"Fashion is something through which I express myself, my mood, and my personality. Many people often think that fashion is just about following trends, but for me, it's much more personal. It reflects who you are and what makes you comfortable. Fashion isn't just about wearing what's popular, it's about wearing what makes you feel good. It showcases your personality and even your emotions. That's what fashion means to me," he says.

Talking about his favourite trends, he says, "I don't want anything to change right now because the oversized trend is the best one going on. Oversized t-shirts, oversized pants, and baggy pants are so comfortable, and I'm really loving it. I don't miss those skinny-fit jeans and t-shirts at all because they were quite uncomfortable, especially in this kind of weather. The current trend suits me perfectly, and I just love it!"

He adds, "I really like baggy denims, they're my favourite thing from the current fashion trend. When I think back to the times when we used to wear skinny jeans, I remember how uncomfortable they were. They were so tight that walking, sitting, or even moving around in the heat would become difficult.Low-waist jeans were also extremely uncomfortable. But now, with the baggy pants and high-waist trend, everything feels so much better. It's my go-to style, and I think it's the perfect fashion trend for me. I'm really enjoying it!"

He has always been fond of dressing up well, he says. "I believe that being from Delhi has naturally given me a good fashion sense. Since childhood, my mom has always made beautiful clothes for me. Even now, whenever I buy something, I send her a photo first to get her opinion. But I think I've always had a sense of what looks good on me. I don't chase brands, I just go for what I like and what suits my body. That's what fashion means to me."

Talking about fashion inspiration, he says, "I don't recall any specific influence, but I feel that when I started living away from home, I began paying more attention to my style. That's when I started making my own fashion choices, thinking about what would make me feel more comfortable and confident. When it comes to actors, Shahid Kapoor really inspires me. His style is very minimalist and sporty, yet effortlessly stylish. His outfits are simple and not too over-the-top, which I find inspiring. I think that kind of fashion suits my personality as well. It's comfortable, and that's what matters the most to me."

As for his wardrobe, he says, My wardrobe is now filled with a lot of pastel-coloured outfits. Most of them are inspired by the old-money fashion trend, and everything is quite loose and baggy. Even when my mom visits, she often comments, saying, "Everything looks so loose! You've become so thin!" But I try to explain to her that this is the current trend, and honestly, it's the most comfortable one. Oversized t-shirts and baggy pants are my go-to choices, and my wardrobe is mostly filled with them. My mom sometimes suggests I wear brighter colours, but I personally prefer pastel shades. They look elegant and suit me well. So, when it comes to fashion, pastel tones and oversized outfits dominate my wardrobe."

He adds, "I don't really change my wardrobe; I just keep adding new clothes to it. I don't know how to get rid of my old clothes because I have become so comfortable with them. They often become my favourites, and many of them hold special memories. It's just hard for me to let them go.Even when my mom visits, she looks at my overflowing wardrobe and suggests I donate or give away some clothes. I always think I will, but when the time comes, I find it really difficult. Unless something is completely worn out, I can't bring myself to part with it .At this point, I feel like I might need to extend my wardrobe or find some extra space for my clothes. But no matter what, I just can't let go of my old wardrobe."
