"IPL 2025 will affect the ratings of all the Hindi TV shows. It is a major risk to introduce new faces a month before IPL 2025 starts. The channel has decided to introduce the leap at the right time. Whether Jhanak cast will be retained for the next three months or not remains to be seen. An official confirmation is yet to be made. No decision about the extension of the current storyline has been taken yet," a source earlier told Filmibeat in February 2025.

WHY HIBA NAWAB, KRUSHAL AHUJA ARE LEAVING JHANAK?

"The channel and the production house have made their mind to introduce a generation leap after IPL 2025. Star Plus has issued a diktat to the production house to increase the ratings or shut shop. Jhanak is doing well in terms of ratings at 10:30pm slot; however, the channel is unhappy with the numbers. They want the show to generate at least 2 TVR at the late night slot. One has to consider that shows like Jaadu Teri Nazar, Anupamaa and Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai have also witnessed a massive drop in their viewership. It seems the channel is only focusing on Jhanak, which is a bit unfair," an industry source told Filmibeat on condition of anonymity.

Amid the buzz of a leap in Jhanak, three actors have decided to bid adieu to the show. After Hiba Nawab and Krushal Ahuja, another artist has put down her papers. We are talking about Chandni Sharma, who plays the role of Arshi.

While Hiba and Krushal have remained tight-lipped about the development, Chandi has been vocal about quitting Jhanak. She confirmed the 20-year leap, stating that she is leaving the show.
