Hiba Nawab and Krushal Ahuja have shot for their last episodes and their final scenes will air this Sunday (June 8) at 10:30pm on Star Plus. Filmibeat has been at the forefront when it comes to breaking news related to Indian TV shows and actors.

Last month, we shared an exclusive update about Hiba Nawab's exit from Jhanak. We revealed the reason behind the channel issuing a diktat to the production house.

"The channel and the production house have made their mind to introduce a generation leap after IPL 2025. Star Plus has issued a diktat to the production house to increase the ratings or shut shop. Jhanak is doing well in terms of ratings at 10:30pm slot; however, the channel is unhappy with the numbers. They want the show to generate at least 2 TVR at the late night slot. One has to consider that shows like Jaadu Teri Nazar, Anupamaa and Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai have also witnessed a massive drop in their viewership. It seems the channel is only focusing on Jhanak, which is a bit unfair," an industry source told Filmibeat on condition of anonymity.

Parvati Sehgal has replaced Hiba Nawab as the new Jhanak while Riya Sharma will play her on-screen daughter. Her name is also Jhanak.

Arjit Taneja has been paired opposite Riya Sharma.

ANUPAMAA ACTRESS JOINS JHANAK AS NEW ENTRY BUT THERE IS A TWIST

Rupali Ganguly's Anupamaa co-star has been finalised as the new villain of Jhanak. While Chandni Sharma is no longer a part of the show, the makers have confirmed her replacement. A popular actress, who was associated with Anupamaa for a long time, will take over the role as the new villain of the hit serial.

Ashlesha Sawant has commenced the shoot for Jhanak, where she will play the role of Arshi. Twinkle Arora will be seen as her daughter in the serial.

A source associated with Jhanak and Star Plus exclusively told Filmibeat, "Star Plus is keen to revive the ratings of Jhanak, and hence, it introduced a generation leap to spice up the drama. The leap is a massive gamble, as the ardent viewers have already expressed their disappointment about the track. Fans wanted to see more of Hiba Nawab and Krushal Ahuja, but the two actors had to make an exit due to the generation leap."

WHO IS PLAYING NEW ANIRUDH IN JHANAK AFTER LEAP?

Krushal Ahuja did an fabulous job as Anirudh, winning the hearts of the audience with his performance. His sizzling chemistry with Hiba Nawab wooed the viewers, generating huge TRPs for the channel.

Krushal and Hiba won the Star Parivaar Awards 2024 best jodi award for their scorching on-screen romance. Despite their chemistry, the channel somehow failed to market their on-screen jodi among the masses.

Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi fame Sumeet Sachdeva has been finalised to replace Krushal Ahuja as the new Anirudh.

The leap episode of Jhanak will air from June 9 at 10:30pm on Star Plus.
