On Tuesday (July 29), Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi season 2 premiered at its original time slot of 10:30pm, setting the small screen on fire. Within a few minutes of launch, the show trended on X and Instagram, generating a massive response from the audience.

An industry source earlier told Filmibeat's Chief Copy Editor Abhishek Ranjit, "Star Plus and Ekta Kapoor have pinned their hopes high on Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi season 2. The channel and the production house are confident about the show striking a chord with the audience once again. Although the time has changed, the buzz surrounding KSBKBT 2 has proved that the show still enjoys significant popularity among the masses."

The channel and the production house introduced the second installment of the show as they believe it has a lot of appeal and can bring back the family audience to the 10:30pm slot. The first episode received a good response from the audience upon its premiere on Star Plus and JioHotstar.

While Smriti plays Tulsi, Amar Upadhyay is back as Mihir Virani. He is the original Mihir as he played the same character in the show, before making an exit.

"Smriti Irani and Amar Upadhyay have already commenced the shoot for the show in Mumbai. Smriti Irani is being paid a premium amount for her stint in the show. The makers are happy to pay her a whopping amount as she is the face of the show and can bring maximum eyeballs as Tulsi. She is being paid in lakhs per episode, making her the highest-paid actress on Indian television," our source quipped.

Shagun Sharma, who played the lead in Yeh Hai Chahatein, will be seen essaying the role of Paridhi Virani in KSBKBT season 2. Paridhi is the daughter of Tulsi and Mihir.

Rohit Suchanti, who was last seen in Bhagylakshmi, has been roped in to play the role of Angad Virani in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi season 2.
