Moon Banerrjee: Dance, For Me, Is Expression, Joy, Freedom, Healing, And Connection To Self

Actress Moon Banerrjee, who has been part of shows like Chashme Baddoor, Abhimaan, Ghar Ek Mandir, Kasautii Zindagii Kay, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Muskaan, Sasural Simar Ka 2, and Doree, says that dance has always held a lot of significance for her. She adds that it helps her relax, and keeps her happy.
"Dance, for me, is expression, joy, freedom, healing, and connection to self. Dance elevates my mood. It helps release endorphins, reduces stress, and helps me feel more alive and connected to self. Expression through dance is like speaking without words; it lets me convey emotions, tell stories, and show my true self through movement," she says.
Ask her who she loves to dance with, and she says, "My favourite dance partners are my friends. I can let my hair down totally with them and we actually crave dance night outs where we just go dancing."
As for her favourite dancer, she says, "Of Course, the one and only Govinda for the joy he creates with his moves. It's fun, free and organic."
Sharing more about the dance form she loves and her favourite dance number, the actress says, "Not a particular form, I enjoy zumba as much as a classic piece as a kid like all Bengalis do even though I was enrolled in kathak but I couldn't pursue it for long. As for my favourite dance number, It's difficult to name one particular song. But I love most of the Madhuri Dixit's numbers. In today's time, I would say I love watching Deepika Padukone's dance numbers, especially in the Bhansali movies."
