Pakistani Channel Hum TV's Desperate Attempt - Shamelessly Asks Indians To Use VPN For Pak Content: Doglapan…

India Vs Pakistan Hum TV Controversy

India Vs Pakistan Hum TV Controversy: Amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan, following the Pahalgam attack,, the Indian government has intensified its digital restrictions on Pakistani personalities and media. Taking a firm stance, authorities have blocked access to the Instagram profiles of several well-known Pakistani celebrities within India, including popular actors Hania Aamir, Ali Zafar, and Mahira Khan.

In addition to restricting individual profiles, India has also widened its ban on Pakistani entertainment content, effectively pulling the plug on shows and dramas that once enjoyed a significant fan base in our country. The crackdown has sparked widespread surprise and disappointment in Pakistan, where many media outlets have expressed concern over losing access to their largest international viewership - Indian audiences.

HUM TV'S DESPERATE MOVE FOR VIEWERSHIP

For years, Pakistani serials had found a devoted fan following in India, with many Indian viewers praising their storytelling and performances despite political strains. In a move that has stirred strong backlash across social media, Pakistan's leading entertainment network Hum TV has come under fire for urging Indian viewers to watch its content using a VPN (Virtual Private Network) despite the ongoing conflict. Yes, you read that right!

This provocative suggestion was made through a post on the official YouTube channel of HUM TV that read, "Indian viewers VPN istemaal kar saktey hain," sparking criticism from Indian audiences and media professionals alike. The post comes at a time when diplomatic and cultural tensions between India and Pakistan remain strained.

While Pakistani dramas have historically enjoyed a niche fan base in India, the network's audacity in directly addressing Indian viewers, encouraging them to bypass restrictions, has been viewed as both tactless and tone-deaf.

INDIANS BLAST HUM TV; CALLS IT 'DOGLAPAN'

Several users on X (formerly Twitter) slammed the channel for undermining India's laws and disrespecting national sentiment, especially when Pakistani celebrities and content remain officially barred from Indian television and OTT platforms.

Netizens have called Hum TV's appeal an attempt to exploit viewership from India without acknowledging the political reality. Others pointed out the irony of the same Pakistani networks celebrating the ban on Indian films and channels within their own country, but now pushing Indian fans to sneak through the digital backdoor using VPNs.

Reacting to it, a Twitter user wrote, "भाई पहले हमारे देश पर हमला करते हो, फिर हमारे व्यूज़ के लिए भीख मांगते हो? दोगलापन भी कोई तुमसे सीखे !"

Another commented, "Bikhari #Pakistan. They are irrelevant without India and Indian Audiences. Huge Beizzati."

A third comment reads, "Casual way of begging."

Hum TV's attempt to ask Indian viewers to use VPNs to access their shows is both disrespectful and insensitive. At a time when India has clearly banned Pakistani content due to serious political and security reasons, this move feels like a direct challenge to Indian laws and public sentiment.

Instead of handling the situation maturely, Hum TV tried to take advantage of Indian viewership in a sneaky way. Such actions may only fuel stronger backlash. What do you think? Tell us in the comments below.
