On November 14, Priyank shared the news on Instagram, writing, "Sleep well my Daddy. I will miss you so much. I hope I will make you proud one day. Rest in peace (1966-2025)." His post quickly garnered attention and support from friends and fans.

Priyank and Divya first met on Splitsvilla 10 and dated briefly after the show. Their relationship ended after Priyank's participation in Bigg Boss 11 due to rumours about his closeness with VJ Benafsha Soonawalla.

The rumours upset Divya, leading her to confront Priyank during the show. However, Priyank clarified in an open letter that their relationship had already ended in July 2017, prior to Bigg Boss 11. Despite their breakup, they have maintained a cordial relationship over the years.

Divya has since moved on and is now married to restaurateur Apurva Padgaonkar. The couple celebrated their wedding in February 2024 in Mumbai.
