Pushpa Impossible Fame Indraxi Kanjilal: You Could Be Well-Known And Yet Not Get Projects Anymore

Pushpa Impossible Fame Indraxi Kanjilal

Despite building a name for yourself in the industry, nothing is predictable here, says actress Indraxi Kanjilal, who plays Prathana in Pushpa Impossible. She says that this can get very stressful and emotionally draining.

"The acting profession is a constant hustle. You can be extremely successful, you could have a lot of money, you could be well-known and yet, you might not be getting enough projects anymore. And if you're not getting projects, you're not being seen, you're not relatable anymore. It just goes like that. Acting is such a profession like right now, I'm employed, but after a few months, I might not be. Because acting isn't constant employment. It's like freelancing. One moment I'm working, and the next, I'm not," she says.

Despite years of experience, she says the struggle doesn't just go away. "Even after years of experience and being really successful, you might still not be offered more projects. And there could be various reasons for that. But if you're not being offered work, of course it feels like a downfall. Because for an actor, we have to keep constantly hustling, for work, for stardom, to reach a certain level of success, for some people."
Ask her how she keeps herself motivated and inspired through long hours and emotionally draining shoots, and she credits her love for acting.

"It is emotionally and physically draining, of course. But I also love my job. I love performing. It's a very interesting part of me. I love doing what I do, you know, so it's not really that draining for me. Like, yeah, of course if I'm working really hard, I might get tired. Everybody gets tired at the end of the day. But I enjoyed what I did during the day, right? So it's fine for me," she says.

She adds, "This is where my creativity also works. When I'm on set, I try to be as creative as I can. I try to add lines. I like to improvise. I like to bring a little spice to my character whatever I'm playing, I like to add that little spunk. In real life, I'm a third-year college student, right? So I have to study a lot in real life. When I'm not working, I'm studying. And when I'm not studying, I may be busy on social media, because it's so important these days to have a very active presence online. So yeah, social media, work, and studying that's what my life is all about right now.

I'm 21, and this is what my life looks like. And life has many other pages to turn, so let's just wait and watch what's going to happen."

Being part of a show since a long time can be both comforting as well as challenging, she says, adding, "When you're playing a character for a long enough time things supposedly become easier, or it seems that way. But of course, there are new sets of challenges all the time. You know, it's almost mandatory to have challenges when you're performing, when you're acting. There are always challenges, and you just have to cope with them."
