Shubhangi Atre Aka Angoori Bhabi Opens Up About Her Struggling Days, "I Was Left Homeless”

Shubhangi Atre Aka Angoori Bhabi Opens Up About Her

For Shubhangi Atre , widely loved for her iconic role as Angoori Bhabi in &TV's Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai, the road to stardom wasn't always lined with laughter and applause. There was a time when life in the city of dreams tested her resilience, leaving her momentarily without a roof over her head.

But like every powerful story, hers took a heartwarming turn-shaped by compassion, sisterhood, and unexpected kindness.

Recalling those early days of struggle, Shubhangi Atre aka Angoori Bhabi shares, "I remember it like it was yesterday. I had just arrived in Mumbai, full of dreams, having left my 10-month-old baby behind in Pune. That decision alone was one of the toughest I have ever made. Within a month, I started working on a show, and things seemed to be finally taking off. But life had other plans. I was staying in a shared PG accommodation with a few other girls, and one day, after a long shoot, I came back to complete chaos. The landlord suddenly asked all of us to vacate the house immediately. It was a shock. I was in a new city, already missing my baby-and now, I was without a home.I barely knew anyone in Mumbai at the time. I was heartbroken and seriously considered returning to Pune and giving up on my acting dreams. But just when it seemed like everything was falling apart, a lifeline appeared in the form of a friend."

She adds, "In that moment of panic and helplessness, the only person I could think of was my dear friend and actress Megha Dhade, whom I had met during shoots. I called her and explained everything. Without hesitation, she said, 'Stay where you are. I am coming to get you.' True to her words, she picked me up and took me home. She gave me shelter, support, and more importantly, hope. I will never forget that gesture."

Reflecting on that life-altering moment, she adds, " Everyone needs that one person who shows up when the world seems to be against you.For me, Megha was that person. She didn't just give me a place to stay; she gave me strength when I felt my most vulnerable. We often celebrate success, but it's life's testing moments that truly shape who we become.Mumbai tested me in many ways, but it also gave me angels like Megha. Even today, whenever she calls, I drop everything to be there for her. Ours is a bond that goes beyond friendship; we are like soul sisters who have weathered the storms of life together."
