This celebration aims to enhance its use in global platforms and foster its role in international communication. In 2025, World Hindi Day falls on Friday, January 10, continuing its mission to expand the reach and relevance of Hindi worldwide.

WHY WE CELEBRATE WORLD HINDI DAY?
For those who are not aware, World Hindi Day is a tribute to Hindi's global significance, marking its first use in the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in 1949 and the inaugural World Hindi Conference in 1975, opened by then-Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. These milestones have played a vital role in showcasing Hindi's international relevance.
In 2006, January 10 was officially declared as World Hindi Day by former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, emphasizing its importance as a tool for global communication. Since then, the day has been celebrated to increase awareness and promote the widespread use of Hindi on international platforms.
For 2025, World Hindi Day will focus on the theme, "Global Voice of Unity and Cultural Pride," highlighting Hindi's role in fostering cultural exchange and unity worldwide. This theme aims to inspire greater linguistic inclusivity and global collaboration through the Hindi language.
