‘A Quiet Kind of Love’: Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai Fame Suzanne Bernert On The Bond She Shares With Her Father
For Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, actress Suzanne Bernert, Father's Day isn't about loud celebrations. It's about the quiet moments that stay with her forever. Speaking about her dad, Mr. Michael Bernert, the actress says he may be a man of few words, but his love has always been steady and unconditional.

"My father isn't someone who expresses emotions loudly," Suzanne shares with a smile. "But his support has always been there - steady, protective and unconditional."
Thrillers, TV & honest conversations
One of her favourite rituals? Watching thrillers together when she's in Germany on holiday. "We both love thrillers,"* she laughs. "And many times our deepest conversations happen while we are both still looking at the TV screen. Somehow those moments feel the most honest."
Behind her confident presence today is a childhood she calls warm and joyful filled with laughter & safety. "When I think of my childhood, I think of laughter, safety and love," Suzanne recalls. "My parents created a beautiful environment for me growing up."
Suzanne remembers her first stage performance in Neu Ulm, Germany. Her dad's biggest fear wasn't her forgetting lines. "My father's biggest fear was not whether I would forget my lines," she says, amused, "but that I wouldn't know where the stage ends and accidentally fall off."
That protective concern, she feels, captures who he is -"quietly watching, quietly worrying and always standing close by."
While many go for flowers or gifts, Suzanne already knows her dad's pick. "He is definitely getting an ice cream treat instead of flowers," she says. "He absolutely loves ice cream, so that would make him much happier."
Love doesn't need words
For Suzanne, the strongest bonds are built through presence, not speeches."My father taught me that love can be silent and still incredibly powerful," she says.
This Father's Day, her tribute is simple: to a dad who filled her childhood with laughter, shared quiet thriller nights, and showed love in the gentlest, most constant ways.
