Anupamaa Actress Adrija Roy On World Music Day: I Turn To Music To Relax And Unwind

As the world celebrates World Music Day, Anupamaa actress Adrija Roy shares how deeply music is woven into her daily life, calling it her biggest source of comfort and connection.

Talking about what music means to her, she says, "I have had a lifelong love for music. For me, music is a source of comfort and a way to stay connected with myself." She adds that after long and hectic shoot days, music becomes her escape. "Whenever I come home after a long day of shooting, I turn to music to relax and unwind," she shares, recalling how even during lockdown, music helped her stay positive.

When it comes to her taste, Adrija says she is drawn to soulful and emotional melodies. "I enjoy songs with beautiful melodies and emotions," she says, adding that devotional shlokas are a part of her morning routine as they help her begin the day on a positive note. She also mentions her love for independent artists and their calming voices.

Ask her about a song that instantly lifts her mood, and she quickly says, "Abhi Na Jao Chhod Kar," calling it a timeless classic that holds a special place in her heart. She adds that the song also brings back cherished memories of family gatherings, fondly referred to as "adda" moments.

Speaking about her musical inclination, she says she has always been drawn towards vintage Bollywood songs, devotional music, and timeless classics. She adds that her nine years of classical training naturally shaped her love for soulful and meaningful music.

Interestingly, Adrija reveals a unique ritual on the sets of Anupamaa. She says, "After an intense scene, I run to my make-up room and listen to retro Bollywood songs to emotionally wash my hands," adding that this routine is non-negotiable.

Talking about singers, she says choosing one is difficult, but she deeply admires legends like Mohammed Rafi, Kishore Kumar, and Lata Mangeshkar. She also praises B Praak for his emotional depth.

She signs off by saying that old classics will always remain on repeat in her playlist.
