Talking about the scene, he said, "It was actually quite refreshing because it was different from the usual scenes I get to perform. The actor also revealed that he didn't rely on any outside references while preparing for the breakdown sequence. Instead, he focused on understanding Prem's emotional journey and everything the character had gone through before reaching that breaking point.

"I didn't really use any specific references. I just tried to completely understand Prem as a character - everything he had been through leading up to that breaking point. Once you understand the emotional journey, the performance comes naturally. My only aim was to portray his pain and vulnerability as honestly and truthfully as I could," Shivam explained.

DID SHIVAM KHAJURIA FEEL EMOTIONALL DRAINED AFTER PERFORMING THE SCENE?

While the scene looked emotionally draining on screen, Shivam shared that he has learned to separate himself from his characters once filming is complete. However, he admitted that such intense performances still demand a lot from an actor.

"Not really. I think I've developed a good on-and-off switch over the years, so I'm usually able to step out of the character once the shot is over. That said, emotionally intense scenes do take a lot out of you, so they can definitely be mentally and physically draining by the end of the day," he added.

With Prem's emotional breakdown changing the course of the story, Anupamaa continues to keep viewers invested in its latest twists.
