Anupamaa Producer Praises Ekta Kapoor Amid Rumours Of Competition: She's A Legend | EXCL

Rajan Shahi Praises Ekta Kapoor: Television industry, which often comes with new shows every now and then, has seen frequent competitions between popular shows which has left the audience brimming with an opinion. Amid this, two big shows are said to be locking horns for TRP sparking reports about tough competition between Rupali Ganguly starrer Anupamaa and Smriti Irani starrer Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2. However, Anupamaa producer Rajan Shahi has dismissed the reports about any competition with Ekta Kapoor and was all praises for her and even called her a legend.

In an exclusive conversation with Filmibeat, Rajan Shahi stated, "Log koshish karte hain ki ek sense of competition aa jaye. Competition hai, rahega, har maker chahta hai mera show acha kare but ek healthy competition hai. Beech me ek phase aaya tha ki logon ne jaanbujh ke na, thoda sa negative competition aa jaye anupamaa and kyunkii ke beech me, kuch logon ne koshish bhi kari. It was very gracious of Ekta ji to call me, coz ye har jagah news aa chuki thi, she called me and spoke to me. I told her, "I know". Jab ye show ka maine pehla promo dekha tha to maine 20-25 lines ka message Ekta ji ko bheja tha ki my mother and I have been fans of Kyunkii but mujhe Khushi is baat ki hai ki aaj meri daughter jab Kyunkii dekhe to 3 generations judd jayenge ek show ke liye. To aapko ye samajhna hai ki Kyunkii is not just a show, it's a legacy. Ekta ji ne wo respect serials ko dia through Kyunkii jiski wajah se hum survive kr rhe. Kyunkii was the first serial jisko itni popularity mili, saare nation ko isne pakad ke rakha. To khali humare show and uski TRP is not the thing. That's so petty. Wo legend hain Ekta ji and Smriti Ji, who have created it. Anupamaa hai, it's doing well and I think Anupamaa is inspired by the kind of storytelling which Ekta ji has done. Toh wo ek sense of acknowledgement karna humara ki hum legends ke saath .1, .2 TRP nhi kar sakte. We as makers respect each other".

Earlier, Ekta Kapoor had dismissed reports of competition between Anupamaa and Kyunki Saas Bhi Bahu Thi 2 and told Brut, "She [Rupali] is such a big star. Anupamaa the show, the creator Rajan... has done what nobody else could do in the last seven years. They will continue to be number 1. They should continue to be number 1. These unfair comparisons between lead characters and lead shows is so unnecessary and pitting women against each other, pitting content against each other is so uncalled for"
