Chahatt Khanna Reveals Real Reason On Rejection Lead Antagonist Role In A Political Drama: They Wanted Me To..
Actor-entrepreneur Chahatt Khanna has turned down a major role in Colors upcoming political drama, choosing instead to keep space in the schedule for other projects and an early-stage reality show discussion with Amazon Prime Video, while still stressing strong emotional ties with television, which Chahatt credits as the medium that built a large part of the acting journey so far.

The untitled Colors political drama offered Chahatt a lead antagonist role in a prime-time slot, but the team needed almost the entire month for shooting, and Chahatt felt such an intensive schedule could clash with existing business responsibilities and current creative plans, leading to a careful decision that balanced work opportunities with long-term professional goals.
Chahatt Khanna political drama television show offer and demanding schedule
Speaking about the project, Chahatt shared, "I was approached for a lead role in an upcoming political drama on Colors. It was a prime-time show and an exciting opportunity. However, television requires a significant commitment, and the makers wanted me to dedicate almost 25 days a month to the show."
Although the concept and character interested Chahatt, the actor believed saying yes without proper availability would be unfair to the team and audience expectations, so Chahatt explored alternatives with the makers, hoping to reach a workable middle ground on the number of days needed on set.
She explained, "The role offered to me was that of the lead antagonist, and it was definitely an interesting character. I was genuinely keen on taking it up, but I knew I wouldn't be able to commit 25 days every month. I requested the team if the schedule could be adjusted to around 18 shooting days, but unfortunately that wasn't possible. Eventually, I had to turn down the offer."
| Project | Platform | Role | Required days | Days Chahatt proposed |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Untitled political drama | Colors | Lead antagonist | 25 days per month | 18 days per month |

Even after stepping away from this Colors offer, Chahatt underlined that television continues to hold a special place, both emotionally and professionally, because long-running serials introduced Chahatt to a wide audience and built trust with viewers across India.
"Television will always be my roots, and I have immense respect and love for the medium. I would have been more than happy to be a part of the show if the schedules had aligned. At the moment, though, I'm exploring different formats of entertainment and am particularly interested in reality shows," she said.
The actor revealed that another possibility is already under discussion. She added, "I'm currently in discussions for an upcoming reality show on Amazon Prime Video. It's still at a very early stage, so let's see how things unfold. I'm looking forward to exploring new opportunities and formats as an artist." Alongside these talks, Chahatt also continues managing business ventures, staying open to strong scripts with practical shooting timelines.
