EXCL! Lekha Prajapati Opens Up About Recovery After Emotional Scenes: Mind And Body Gradually Come Out Of...
Lekha Prajapati has consistently made a name for herself with a range of performances across mediums. From emotionally layered characters to roles that demand depth and sensitivity, she has continued to delight audiences with her sincerity on screen. While viewers often see only the final performance, Lekha says a lot happens internally before and after an intense scene is filmed.

Speaking about how she disconnects from emotionally demanding moments once the camera stops rolling, the actress admitted that it is not something that happens instantly for her.
According to Lekha, actors train themselves to respond truthfully to fictional situations that must feel real while performing. As a result, the mind and body often respond as though the events are actually happening.
"I think, because we as actors train and in a way force our mind and body to believe a certain situation that's happening onscreen, which is not happening in real life," she explained. "For example, if there's a death of a loved one in a scene, my mind and body will react almost the same way they would if something like that happened in my own family."
Because of that emotional investment, Lekha believes actors need time to return to their normal state after filming a difficult sequence.
"Generally, after an intense sequence, nobody talks for a few minutes. The set also respects that space. If you've cried a lot or gone through something emotionally heavy in a scene, people allow you that time," she said.
The actress revealed that it can take anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes for her to completely move on from such moments. Rather than trying to immediately switch back to normal, she prefers allowing the process to happen naturally.
"Your body has reacted in a certain way and your mind has reacted in a certain way, so it takes a little bit of time. I think every actor should give that time to their mind and body so that they gradually come out of it," Lekha shared.
She also pointed out that entering an emotional state is a gradual process, which is why stepping out of it should be treated the same way.
"The exit from an emotional sequence shouldn't be like snapping out of it. Your mind and body gradually go into that emotion, and they should be allowed to gradually come out of it as well," she explained.
Interestingly, Lekha acknowledged that some actors can instantly switch between emotions and reality, but she does not work that way.
"I've seen actors who are absolutely switched on and switched off. I am not one of them. I take a little time to enter a scene and exit a scene," she said with honesty.
