EXCL! Rajan Shahi On Family, Ideas, And Daughter Ishika’s Journey: Our Home Has Always Been Open & Creative
Television producer Rajan Shahi, known for shaping some of Indian TV's most loved shows, opens up about how creativity has always been a way of life at home-and how that environment is now influencing the next generation.

Speaking about his family in a conversation with Filmibeat video journalist Mukesh Sharma, Rajan shares that creative exchange has never been forced, but is something that naturally exists within their daily lives. "From the very beginning, our home environment has been very open and democratic. Ishika's mother Pearl Grey, who is also a writer and producer, has always been a part of the industry. So creative discussions, sharing ideas, and exchanging perspectives have always been a natural part of our household," he says.
He credits this atmosphere for nurturing his daughter Ishika's ambitions. "Ishika has very big dreams, and what makes me truly happy is that she is putting in the effort to achieve them. She is not just dreaming but actively working towards building something of her own," he shares with pride.
Looking back, Rajan reflects on how his journey as a producer intertwined with his personal life. Recalling his early days, he says, "When I look back at my journey, I remember my first show as a producer, Sapna Babul Ka...Bidaai. There was a song sequence with Parul and Sara, and Ishika was very young at that time. She was also a part of that moment."
Today, that connection has come full circle. Through Ishika's work, Rajan finds himself engaging with a younger creative community. "Because of Ishika, I am interacting with a completely new generation of talent. Not just actors, but also writers and creative minds who bring fresh perspectives," he explains.
While both are pursuing their own paths, the bond remains strong. "Earlier, our routines were simpler, but now it feels nice that both of us are working, growing, and moving forward in our own ways while still staying connected," he adds.
