As both shows enjoy massive viewership, Filmibeat got in touch with Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 and Naagin 7 Creative Director Siddharttha Vankar, who shared his thoughts on the unexpected scale of success, the pressure that comes with it, and the creative responsibility of handling two very different yet equally popular shows.

Talking exclusively to Filmibeat about whether he anticipated this level of dominance, Siddhartha admitted that while the team was confident, the numbers still took them by surprise. "To be very honest, we knew Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 would do well. But after Naagin 7 launched and we saw the response it received, we were all very happy. Still, I didn't expect that excitement to translate into such strong numbers. I knew it would perform well, but I honestly did not expect numbers of this scale," he said.

With both shows leading the charts, the success also brings added pressure. Siddhartha believes that topping the TRP list is not just about celebration. "It's definitely a lot of pressure, because audience expectations from us are much higher now. So yes, while it is something to celebrate, it also comes with greater responsibility to keep delivering," he shared.

SIDDHARTTHA VANKAR SHARES VIEWS ON CREATIVE CHALLENGES

Despite weekly TRP updates, Siddharttha revealed that the team does not make drastic changes to storytelling. According to him, instinct plays a key role in content creation. "No, we stick to what we have already planned. What comes from gut feeling is what usually works. Of course, some tracks don't click, but we still stay true to the story-at most, we adjust the pace or wrap a track up sooner," he explained.

Speaking about creative challenges, Siddharttha highlighted how both shows demand very different approaches. "Both shows belong to completely different genres, and each comes with its own challenges. With Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, the constant pressure was whether we would be able to recreate that same magic. On the other hand, Naagin involves many other elements-learning AI and VFX, and at the same time understanding and balancing the kind of drama the show demands," he said.

With nostalgia driving Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 and spectacle powering Naagin 7, Siddharttha Vankar's balanced approach continues to keep both shows at the top, proving why they remain the biggest crowd-pullers on Indian television right now.
