From Bhojpuri Blockbusters To &TV’s Gharwali Pedwali: Anup Lota Tiwari Adds Desi Flavour As Pappi Bhaiya

&TV's Gharwali Pedwali continues to entertain audiences with its perfect mix of supernatural comedy, rooted humour, and relatable characters. Adding a strong desi connect and comic spark to the show is popular Bhojpuri actor Anup Lota Tiwari, who is seen as Pappi Bhaiya , Jeetu's trusted friend whose well-meaning advice often lands everyone in deeper trouble.

Speaking about being part of the show, Anup Lota Tiwari shares, "I am extremely excited about Gharwali Pedwali, and the biggest reason I agreed to do this show was its horror-comedy concept, which I had never explored before. It felt refreshing and challenging. Also, the story has a strong Banaras connection, which instantly struck a chord with me, as it relates closely to my roots."

Talking about his character, he adds, "Pappi Bhaiya is Jeetu's closest friend, but unfortunately, whatever advice I give him always turns out to be wrong (laughs). I genuinely try to help him with good intentions, but destiny plays its own game. On top of that, the Pedwali keeps taking revenge on me for my actions, beating me up and torturing me, making the situations even more hilarious. My strength lies in my acting style, body language, and comfort with the language and backdrop of the show. Coming from the Bhojpuri industry has helped me a lot in shaping this character naturally, be it dialogue delivery, expressions, or overall presence. I've been working in this space for years, and it feels wonderful to bring that experience to &TV."

Reflecting on his journey, he says, "I came to Mumbai in 2003 and gradually got opportunities across television and films. I have worked in over 100 Bhojpuri films, including 35-40 movies with superstar Pawan Singh. Today, transitioning from regional cinema to television and OTT feels rewarding. I hope the love audiences have given me in the Bhojpuri industry continues with Gharwali Pedwali as well."
