Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan Makar Sankranti twist and celebration
The on-screen kite proposal mirrors an incident from Amandeep Sidhu’s childhood, also linked to Makar Sankranti. The coincidence adds a personal layer for Amandeep while performing the romantic scenes. The actor has shared that this track reminded Amandeep of an old memory from school days in Delhi.
Recalling that time, Amandeep shares, 'I was in eighth or ninth standard, living in Delhi. There was a boy who lived near my lane, it was typical galli mohalle wala pyaar. We never really spoke to each other, not even a hello or a hi. We would just see each other from our windows at a fixed time. During one of the kite-flying days, he wrote his phone number on one of his kites. I still remember what happened clearly. And then I remember calling him. It's such an adorable memory.''
Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan Makar Sankranti memories on and off screen
For Amandeep, recreating a kite-led confession for Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan meant blending nostalgia with performance. The track lets Amandeep revisit that childhood proposal, while Sneha on screen processes Siddhu’s written confession and the hidden truth about Durgawati. The Makar Sankranti episode therefore connects personal memories with scripted drama.
The festive visuals in Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan came with tough conditions for the cast and crew. Describing the shoot, Amandeep says, "Shooting the Makar Sankranti scene was challenging for us because we had to work in very cold weather, it was around three to four degrees. We had to be on set early, around 7 to 8 in the morning, because we were filming a scene that takes place during the day and that made it even tougher. It was really windy, and the air was moving around a lot. But I would also like to point out that we also had great fun while shooting the Makar Sankranti celebration, it was a shoot which didn't feel like one, we enjoyed a lot.''
Despite the cold, the team aimed to keep the Makar Sankranti celebrations in Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan lively on screen, with kites, colour and family interactions. The festive track leads directly into the emotional reveal about Siddhu’s identity, setting up further drama for Sneha, Durgawati and the rest of the characters.
The current track on Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan underlines how a cheerful Makar Sankranti event can bring hidden truths to light while also echoing Amandeep Sidhu’s real-life kite proposal story. Viewers will see romance, nostalgia and confrontation blend in the festival episode, before the narrative continues with the fallout from Siddhu’s confession.
