Hastinapur Ke Veer: Vivana Singh On Her Character Gandhari In Sony SAB’s Show: "The Biggest Challenge..."
Mumbai, May 19th 2026: Sony SAB is all set to bring audiences an epic mythological saga with Hastinapur Ke Veer , a show that explores the early years of the Pandavas and Kauravas, tracing the relationships, emotions, and decisions that shaped the future of Hastinapur. The show premieres on 2nd June at 9PM on Sony SAB. and adding emotional depth and quiet strength to the story is actor Viviana Singh, who steps into the powerful role of Gandhari - a queen remembered for her sacrifice, resilience and unwavering devotion.

Portraying Gandhari came with its own emotional and physical challenges for Viviana, especially because of the character's iconic blindfold - a symbol of her lifelong vow and inner strength. For Vivana, performing while blindfolded is not just about limiting vision, but completely reimagining how to express emotions through her voice and body language.
Sharing her experience, Vivana Singh said, "Playing Gandhari is one of the most intense and transformative experiences for me as an actor. The biggest challenge is performing blindfolded for long hours because as actors, we naturally rely so much on eye contact and visual reactions to express emotion. With Gandhari, I had to unlearn that instinct completely. I spent time understanding how someone without sight experiences space, emotion and relationships. During prep, I practiced walking, reacting and performing scenes with my eyes covered so I could become more instinctive and comfortable in that state. Over time, I learned to express more through pauses, voice modulation and physical stillness. Gandhari carries immense emotional weight within her and portraying that strength is both challenging and deeply rewarding."
Tune in to watch Hastinapur Ke Veer from 2nd June every Monday - Saturday at 9PM only on Sony SAB.
