Hina Khan Blasts Shilpa Shinde Over ‘False’ Sexual Harassment Row, Calls Sanjay Kohli The 'Real Victim'

Actor Shilpa Shinde has admitted on a podcast that the sexual harassment complaint filed in 2017 against Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain producer Sanjay Kohli was false, a revelation that has prompted strong criticism from actor Hina Khan, who warned that such actions could damage real survivors’ attempts to seek justice.

Shilpa discussed the case during a recent episode of Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa's podcast, speaking almost nine years after a public dispute with the makers of Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain. Shilpa claimed there was “no other way” at that time, and said the matter was later resolved when pending dues were cleared.

Hina’s response came through a detailed Instagram Story note, where Hina explained that such topics are usually avoided, but the admission forced a reaction. Hina condemned what was described as the use of a false sexual assault claim during a professional fight, saying the fallout harms genuine complainants and the broader workplace environment.

In the note, Hina stressed that seeking legal help in true cases remains essential and must never be discouraged. However, Hina said the confession left Hina "shocked beyond words". Hina wrote, "Yes, using your Sex to malign someone's image in order to win during a conflict is absolutely shameful."

Hina then shifted focus to the person Hina described as the real casualty of the episode, writing, "But I want to talk about the 'Real Victim' here. A respected Man with a wife, a daughter and many other women in his family." Hina identified that person as producer Sanjay Kohli.

Describing Sanjay Kohli as a hardworking television producer associated with many longstanding shows, Hina argued that the false complaint damaged the reputation of Sanjay Kohli and affected the trust of colleagues. Hina wrote, "As admitted by the Female Actor, her allegations were not just baseless they were used to gain advantage, to win, to score, to claim, to settle without the utilisation of Law."

Hina also pointed out that, despite the earlier allegation, Sanjay Kohli later offered Shilpa work on the same show again. Hina wrote, "And even after that, the SAME producer gives the SAME show to the SAME person. Another LAUNCHPAD, another MOUTHPIECE, another RELEVANCE, another CHANCE to legitimise her Fake Claim of SEXUAL ASSAULT."

Raising concern about possible future repercussions, Hina asked whether such accusations could be repeated, stating, "What if the actor repeats it? After all the actor has been given the same show by the one she FALSELY ACCUSED." Hina ended the note by expressing disappointment with the entire chain of events, adding, "The joke is on us."
