Hui Gumm Yaadein: ‘Playing One-sided Love Is Challenging’: Avinn Tyagi On His Role As Dr. Abeer

Tyagi, who first gained attention as the runner-up of Mr. Uttarakhand 2020, plays Dr. Abeer Chabaria - a fun-loving, warm, yet highly disciplined professional. But it's Abeer's one-sided love story that's proving to be both the toughest and most rewarding part of the role.

The show airs the story of Abeer's feelings for Dr. Vaani Gupta. When asked if he enjoys portraying Abeer's one-sided love, Tyagi was candid about the character's emotional depth.

"Ah yes, right now you're seeing Abeer - that he's very much in love with Dr. Vaani Gupta (Srishti Singh) and is trying everything to impress her. And sometimes he also gets sad when he sees that Vani is with Dr. Dev (Iqbal Khan)," he said.

But the actor was quick to clarify that Abeer's sadness isn't born out of jealousy. "He gets sad only because, man, why isn't she happy with me? He doesn't get sad because she's happy with Dev. He loves her - his love is true, it's pure love. Whether she's with me or not, he just wants to see Vaani happy, that's all. He doesn't do selfish love like, no no, she should only be with me."

Interestingly, Tyagi revealed that the track is completely new territory for him personally.

"And if I talk about personal life, then no man, something like one-sided love has never happened in my life. And for me myself, playing this plot is very challenging, because I mean... it's like this has never happened in my life, right? So when something hasn't happened in your life, cracking that character is a bit hard," he admitted.

Still, the actor sees the challenge as a blessing in disguise. "Yeah, but at the same time, I'm really enjoying this and getting to learn new things, and my skills are improving and, like, more things are getting added on."

Hui Gumm Yaadein - Ek Doctor Do Zindagiyaan airs on Sony SAB, with Tyagi's Dr. Abeer Chabaria navigating love, duty, and heartache alongside co-stars Iqbal Khan, Gulki Joshi and Srishti Singh.
