India’s Best Dancer 5: Background Dancers From ‘Khalibali’ Reveal Ranveer’s Kindness & SLB’s Perfectionism

18th June 2026, Mumbai: India's Best Dancer Season 5 is all set to celebrate choreographers in this special episode to honor the incredible artistry and passion of those who have shaped the magic of Indian dance. It will feature director and choreographer Remo D'Souza celebrating 12 iconic choreographers from Bollywood.

The celebratory episode is also set to witness a historic moment as the original background dancers from the blockbuster song Khalibali join powerhouse contestant Prathamesh Mane on stage to recreate the legendary performance live. Taking the judges and viewers back to the high-octane energy of the chartbuster, one of the original crew members reflected on the scale and uniqueness of the song, sharing "Around 200 log the Khalibali song mein, 1000 years back, if we have to imagine how that song will turn out, how massively Ganesh would have imagined uss mein Sanjay sir ka perfection mila, bahut badi baat hain. Aur unko perfection chahiye, matlab phir chahiye."

The dancers also spoke about Ranveer Singh's incredible dedication and determination to his role and performance by stating "Woh character chhod hi nahi rahe the. Proper karna, ek ek cheez, aankhon ka expression, chehre ka expression continue, yahan wahan dekhna, aggression, body language. Woh gaane mein unki energy bahut heen high thi."

Revealing the intense effort that went into filming the song over six days, one of the dancers shared their memorable experience from the set, explaining that after endless costume changes, rehearsals till lunch, and 50-60 retakes, they shot until 10:00 PM when the scene was finally approved, leaving everyone with aching knees.

He further added how precise Sanjay Leela Bhansali was with every frame while filming, saying "Phir Bhansali sir ghar jaake pehle editing studio jaate hain. Kaisa shoot hua, woh saara check karte hain. Phir unko kuch aisi chhoti moti cheezein pasand nahi aayi. Chauthe din aake poora shot change kiya. Ek din ki poori mehnat poori change."

The most heartwarming moment was when the dancer recalled Ranveer Singh's empathy during an injury on set. He shared "Aur ek baat, main Ranveer Singh ji ke baju mein hi hamesha rehta hoon, Khalibali aur Malhari mein. Toh ek shot tha, turn maar ke hamlog upar dekhte hain. Yeh shot hum bare feet kar rahe the. Ranveer Singh ji ke jo shoes the, kaantedar shoes the, toh mere pair mein lag gaya tha. Phir shot khatam hone ke baad mujhe utha ke bahar leke gaye aur mujhe bithaya. Aur Ranveer Singh sir ice leke aaye aur sek rahe the."
