Contestants who have reached this round are Abhishek Kumar, Amritha Rajan, Ankita Mahua Giri, Anshika Chonkar, Diwakar Choubey, Jyotirmayee Nayak, Manraj Veer Singh, Suhail and Tanishk Shukla.

They have secured spots in the top 9 after impressing judges and audience.

Who Will Get Eliminated From Indian Idol 16 Eviction Episode Today?

Indian Idol 16 saw several contestants leave the competition as eliminations progressed through late 2025 and early 2026.

The first reported exit in this phase was Arfin Rana, who left the show on 23rd November 2025. Manav followed on 7th December 2025, with Banashree Biswas departing later that month on 21st December 2025.

The start of 2026 brought more exits from Indian Idol 16. Abhijeet Sharma was eliminated on 18th January 2026, after which Shreya Verma left on 1st February 2026. A fortnight later, on 15th February 2026, Sugandha Date’s journey ended, followed by the exit of Shreenidhi Shastry on 8th March 2026.

Guess what? Viewers predicted that Amritha would get eliminated from Indian Idol 16 on March 22. One user commented on Sony TV's Instagram post, Looks like they'll eliminate Amritha today no promo, no glimpse..they proved that Indian idol is a scripted show. No value for such talent (sic)."

"even if she comes at the bottom 2 or 3, she won't be eliminated as Amritha and Jyothirmayee get the most votes (sic)," another wrote.

Interestingly, no eviction happened as the makers scrapped the process once again.

Indian Idol 16 Extension CONFIRMED!

A reliable industry source exclusively informed Filmibeat Chief Copy Editor Abhishek Ranjit, "Indian Idol season 16 has received an extension. The channel (Sony TV) informed the production house recently about extending the hit show for a few weeks. Considering the success of Indian Idol on SonyLIV, the network is keen to keep the show on air for a long period. The new season has already completed five months, and it is expected to be extended till IPL 2026 ends."
