In an exclusive conversation with Filmibeat Assistant Editor Abhishek Ranjit, Abhishek Kumar got candid about his favourite moment in Indian Idol 16 and performing at Abu Dhabi's Yas Island.
Abhishek Kumar Credits Mentors And Fellow Contestants For His Growth
Abhishek Kumar believes Indian Idol has polished him both as a singer and as a person.
"There has been a huge transformation in me. Living and working closely with fellow contestants, mentors and musicians taught me a lot. I learned not just music but also how to build a career in the industry," he said.
Coming from a classical music background, Abhishek admitted that Indian Idol broadened his musical horizons.
"I used to listen to very few film songs. After coming here, I got exposure to different genres and styles. That has helped me grow immensely."
Favourite Moment And Tribute In Indian Idol 16
Talking about his favourite tribute performance, Abhishek recalled the special episode dedicated to judge Shreya Ghoshal.
"We all sang her songs and surprised her with roses and a cake. That remains one of my favourite moments from the season."
Abhishek Kumar On Performing At Yas Island For Indian Idol 16 Special Episode
Abhishek Kumar was thrilled when he learned he would be performing in Abu Dhabi for a special episode of Indian Idol season 16. He expressed his excitement as it was his first foreign trip, adding that it was a lifetime experience.
"It was my first foreign trip. Visiting Yas Island, Ferrari World, and performing on such a grand stage was a lifetime experience," Abhishek Kumar quipped.
On Sunday (June 28), Abhishek Kumar was eliminated from Indian Idol 16. This interview was conducted before his elimination.
