Indian Idol 16 Special Episode: Ravi Kishan Recalls His 43-Year Journey From Struggles To Success

04 July Mumbai,2026: As Indian Idol celebrates its landmark 75th episode, the Diamond Jubilee special, the stage turns into an emotional celebration of resilience, dreams, and never giving up. While revisiting unforgettable moments from the show's journey, ex-contestant Asees Kaur reflected on the heartbreaking rejection she faced during Indian Idol Season 6, prompting an equally moving confession from special guest Ravi Kishan, who shared an inspiring story from his own days of struggle.

Recalling Asees emotional elimination, Ravi Kishan said, "Mujhe woh 6th episode yaad hai. Woh rejection bhi yaad hai aur aapke aansu bhi yaad hain." Asees admitted, "Mujhe toh lag raha tha main aaj bhi ro padungi."

Responding to her, Ravi comforted her with heartfelt words,"Uss waqt aap nahi roye the, poora desh roya tha. Lekin aaj main mehsoos kar raha hoon ki aap kitna bada sandesh ban chuke ho. Bharat ke itne saare youngsters ko aapse rejection handle karna seekhna chahiye. Aaj aap Filmfare Award jeet kar is manch par khadi ho. Aaj poora Bharat aapko ek winner ke roop mein dekh raha hai." The conversation then took an emotional turn as Ravi Kishan opened up about his own years of struggle before finding success.

Sharing a deeply personal memory, he revealed, "Bahut saare log mujhe pyaar karte hain iss desh mein, kalakaar ke roop mein. Mere bahut saare fans meri struggle ki kahaani sunna chahte hain, lekin main yeh saari baatein batata nahi hoon. Jab mere paas kaam nahi hota tha, toh meri gaadi mein makeup ka dibba rehta tha. Main do-teen mahine uss makeup ke dibbe ko soongh ke rota tha ki, 'Bhagwan, yeh makeup kabhi milega?' Diwaangi thi mujh mein. Main paisa nahi dhoondhta tha ki mere paas paise aayenge toh gaadi khareed loonga aur ghar loonga. Main kehta tha, 'Mujhe makeup kab lagega?'

Reflecting on how that passion transformed his life, he added, "Wahi diwaangi mujhe meri film Laapataa Ladies ke saath Oscars tak pahunchayi. Aur main wahi kalakaar, Oscars tak jaakar, pehle saal saare Best Actor Awards jeet gaya. Yeh diwaangi 43 saal lage uss yatra mein. Mere bahut saare juniors hain, unke liye sirf itna hi kehna chahta hoon don't give up. Ek din suraj aapke liye bhi ugega."
