The conversation will begin after a performance inspired by Rangeela. Judges and guests will then look back at Ahmed Khan’s early rise. They will also discuss his lasting place in the Indian dance community.

Jaaved Jaaferi will recall the trust Ram Gopal Varma showed in Ahmed Khan. Rangeela starred Aamir Khan and introduced a new female lead. It also gave Ahmed Khan his first full film as a choreographer.

Jaaved said, "Ram Gopal Varma sir, you know, Aamir Khan was the star, and he made such a big film with Aamir. He took a new girl, and this was Ahmed’s first film as a choreographer. Ahmed was nineteen (19) years old during the whole film. At that time, he told a nineteen-year-old boy, you will do the choreography. At that time, it was a big risk and call to take."

Remo D'Souza will add another personal layer to the Rangeela discussion. Remo will speak about Ahmed Khan’s direct influence on his own journey. For Remo, the film was not just a dance project.

Remo said, "Whatever technical things I have learnt till now, I learnt them from him. And my life started from there. My life started with the Rangeela song. I was a background dancer in this song. This was the first song where Ahmed sir said he wanted outside dancers who should not look like background dancers. If you see this song, you'll see a fresh pair of dancers behind."

Remo will also reveal that he was not selected at first. Many dancers had arrived for the auditions. Remo stood at the back during the process. Ahmed Khan did not notice Remo in the first round.

He recalled, "I was not selected for this song the first time because auditions were happening. Many people had been brought in. I was standing at the back. Ahmed ji or anyone else did not notice me. So the four people standing ahead of me were selected. After that, I went and requested Ahmed ji. He gave me another chance and took me in."

That second chance later became a major turning point for Remo. The dancer-choreographer will explain how visibility in Rangeela changed things back home. Remo had come from Jamnagar, where screen time carried great meaning.

Remo added, "Later, when I watched Raju ji’s films, I realised that he liked different faces. Maybe because of that, he brought me into the frame many times and also gave me a close-up. At that time, getting a close-up was a very big thing. I had come from Jamnagar. So everyone there went mad that this guy had appeared in a close-up on screen. I watched one song and then another song. By the third song, I was his assistant."

The episode will connect these memories with Ahmed Khan’s wider career. Both Jaaved and Remo will recognise his journey from a teenage choreographer. They will also note how one opportunity can redirect a person’s professional path.

India's Best Dancer Season 5 airs every Saturday and Sunday at 9:30 PM. Viewers can watch it on Sony Entertainment Television and Sony LIV. The Rangeela-themed episode will focus on memory, mentorship and dance history.
