International Tea Day: Sony SAB’s Yaadein Cast Share Why A Simple Cup Of Chai Holds A Special Place

Mumbai, 21st May 2026 : Tea in India is more than just a beverage, it is an emotion woven into everyday life. From early morning routines and mid-day breaks to heartfelt conversations and moments of comfort, chai has a unique way of bringing people together. Celebrating this beloved tradition on International Tea Day, the artists of Sony SAB's Yaadein - Iqbal Khan, Arjun Punjj, and Srishti Singh share their personal connection with tea and why a simple cup of chai continues to hold a special place in their lives.

Talking about their love for tea, Yaadein actors share their stories:

Iqbal Khan, who plays the role of Dr Dev Mehta, shares , "While I may not have tea every single day, chai holds a very special place in my heart because of the memories attached to it. Whenever I visit my parents back in Kashmir, noon chai becomes an essential part of my routine. Sitting with family, enjoying it with fresh Kashmiri bakery treats during the afternoon, just feels so comforting and nostalgic. It's one of those simple things that instantly takes me back to home and family.

Arjun Punjj, who plays the role of Diggy, shares , "I've always been a complete tea lover. My love for chai started in childhood while watching my mother enjoy multiple cups through the day. I still remember sitting beside her, dipping biscuits into her tea and looking forward to those little moments together. Over the years, chai has become a beautiful part of my daily life. In fact, even my wife, Gurdip, who was once a hardcore coffee lover, has now fallen in love with tea because of me. That's the charm of chai, it has a way of bringing people together.

Srishti Singh, who plays the role of Dr Vaani, shares , "I may not be someone who drinks tea all the time, but whenever I do crave a really nice cup of chai, especially when I'm tired or missing home, it has to be something comforting and special. And for me, nothing compares to Ma ke haath ki chai. There's something about Ma ke haath ki chai that instantly feels comforting and familiar. It's not just about the taste, it's the feeling attached to it, warmth, care and home in one cup."
