Ishika Shahi: It's Better To Regret Something You've Done Than To Regret Something You Never Had The Courage..

Ishika Shahi is celebrating the success of her web shows Jabb Zodiacs Met and Heer Sharma Gayi. Her new web show, Tu Yaa Koi Nahi, is also being produced under the banner Director's Kut Productions. Beyond the screen, she wants to leave behind something far more meaningful than memorable performances, a reminder that every young girl has a voice worth hearing.

She said, "I would genuinely want her to never be afraid of raising her voice. Whenever she has feedback or an opinion, she should express it confidently because it's better to regret something you've done than to regret something you never had the courage to do. Voicing your opinion is one of the best things you can do in this industry because everyone's ideas have value."

The industry's gender imbalance doesn't change that for her. She said, "There's no harm in sharing your thoughts. Whether they're accepted or not is a different matter, but you should never be afraid to speak up, even in a room full of men. The industry is still largely male-dominated, so it's important to take a stand for what you believe in and trust your own judgment."

On building her own identity outside a family name, Ishika sees it differently from most. She said, "I'm working with Director's Kut Productions, which is my dad's company. Of course, I do feel the need to build an identity, but my identity is very much linked to DKP. It's not about building something just for myself or making my own name bigger. I want to build DKP. I want to contribute towards making the company bigger and better. I genuinely want whatever I do to benefit DKP because it's the work of an entire team, not just one person."

On whether her generation feels more pressure to be visible than to actually be good, Ishika doesn't draw a clean line. She said, "Today there's definitely a lot of pressure on everyone to be visible. Social media has become such a huge part of people's careers that visibility often goes hand in hand with opportunities. I wouldn't say it's only my generation."

"I think everyone today feels the need to be seen because that's often how they showcase and sell their work. At the same time, I believe people are craving authenticity more than perfection. Rather than trying to appear perfect, it's more important to simply be yourself," Ishika ended.
