Most mothers want to see their sons play the perfect hero. Shahmir Khan's mother is different - she waits for his 'bad boy' scenes. "One of the most beautiful things about her support is that it has never changed, even now when she watches me play negative characters on screen. In fact, she genuinely enjoys it," the actor shares.

And she has a reason rooted in craft. "According to her, the positive characters in daily soaps often don't get much scope, while the entertainment and real acting range comes through negative roles. She loves seeing the freedom and intensity that such characters bring."

Shahmir traces that understanding back to his childhood. "I was just a kid with stars in my eyes, but she made sure those stars never faded. She stood firmly by my side from day one."

This year, the actor is keeping it personal. With his sister recently married, the family home feels different. "This Mother's Day is going to be extra emotional for our family. My sister recently got married, and naturally, there is a slight void at home now."

His plan is simple: "I'm planning to surprise my mother in Delhi and spend quality time with her. More than any grand gesture, I just want to make the day memorable and remind her how important she is to all of us."
