What Happened In Seher Hone Ko Hai?

The episode featured one of the most shocking moments in the show, where Husna murders her father, Abba, played by Usman Niyazi. The sequence left viewers stunned, but Kanika reveals that her parents were among those who were most affected by the intensity of the scene.

In an exclusive conversation with Filmibeat Assistant Editor Abhishek Ranjit, the Diya Aur Baati Hum actress shared that her mother and father called her after watching the particular episode.

Kanika said, "After watching Episode 138, my mother and father called me and told me they were genuinely scared of me. They kept talking about the way I was revolving my eyes during the scene and said those expressions were still fresh in their minds. They told me, 'Whenever we think about that scene, we still get scared.' Hearing that from my own parents was both surprising and rewarding because they know the real me better than anyone."

Kanika added, "The sequence where Husna kills her Abba, played by Usman Niyazi, was emotionally intense and one of the most challenging scenes I have performed. I wanted every expression, every look, and every emotion to reflect what Husna was going through at that moment. When my parents specifically mentioned my eyes and how those expressions had stayed with them, I felt that the performance had truly connected with the audience."

Furthermore, she stated, "After that episode, whenever they called me, they would jokingly ask, 'Are you Kanika or Husna?' It became a running joke in the family. But behind the humour was the fact that they were genuinely disturbed by the deadly act Husna committed. For a brief moment, they forgot they were watching their daughter perform and completely believed in the character."

She concluded, "As an actor, there is no bigger compliment than making people forget that it is a performance. My parents were not scared of Kanika, they were scared of Husna and the darkness she carried in that particular episode. The fact that they still remember the scene and talk about it even today makes me feel proud because it proves the character left a lasting impact. Moments like these remind me why I love acting and storytelling so much."
