“Sony SAB’s Yaadein Keeps Things Relatable While Adding A Refreshing Twist,” Says Arjun Punjj
Mumbai, June 11th, 2026: With its mix of humor, heart, and everyday relatability, Yaadein continues to deliver stories that audiences can smile along with, proving that even medical mysteries can have a playful twist when told the Sony SAB way. Among the many characters in the show is Diggy, played by Arjun Punjj, who has become an important part of Dr. Shrishty's (Gulki Joshi) life. Known for his calm nature, maturity, and balanced outlook, Diggy often brings stability to situations that are otherwise filled with emotional conflict.

In this conversation, Arjun Punjj talks about understanding Diggy's personality, portraying a character who remains grounded during difficult situations, his experience working with the cast, and what viewers can expect from Diggy in the episodes ahead.
1. Diggy has become an important part of Dr. Shrishty's life. How would you describe his personality and what makes him stand out?
Diggy is calm, composed, and chilled-out - someone who doesn't get carried away by emotions or difficult situations. What makes him stand out is the way he handles conflict. Whether it's a disagreement or an emotionally charged moment, he steps in to calm everyone down and encourages them to look at the bigger picture. He believes that some things take time and often reminds people to trust the process rather than react impulsively. That maturity and balanced approach make him unique.
2. Diggy is often seen as calm, mature, and understanding. What do you think is his biggest strength?
His biggest strength is his ability to remain composed even when everyone else is emotional. He acts as a stabilizing force, trying to understand every perspective before forming an opinion. Whether it involves Dr. Shrishty, Dr. Dev, or Gia, he approaches situations with empathy and logic. He never looks at things from just one side and is always willing to acknowledge when someone else may be right. That balance and fairness make him strong.
3. What has been your favourite Diggy moment to shoot so far, and why?
My favourite Diggy moment has to be the very first scene I shot for the show, where Dr. Dev arrives and finds Diggy and Dr. Shrishty spending an evening together. I loved how Diggy diffuses the tension with humour and his trademark light-hearted wisdom. He brings a smile back to the situation and calmly helps everyone see things more clearly. That scene really established who Diggy is as a person and remains one of my favourites.
4. What has been the most challenging aspect of portraying a character like Diggy, who is so emotionally balanced and grounded?
The challenge lies in maintaining that calmness in situations where most people would naturally react emotionally. As an actor, there are moments when you instinctively want to match the intensity of a scene, but Diggy does the opposite. He slows things down, listens, thinks, and then responds. Portraying that restraint while keeping the character engaging requires conscious control and a deep understanding of his personality.
5. Yaadein blends everyday relationships with quirky medical mysteries. What has your experience been like being part of this unique narrative?
What I enjoy most is the way Yaadein keeps things relatable while adding a playful twist through the medical stories. It's not just about hospital cases - it's about how those situations spark fun, warmth, and unexpected moments between the characters. The balance feels refreshing because the show never gets too heavy; instead, it mixes lighthearted storytelling with intriguing tracks that keep viewers curious. Being part of that mix has been both enjoyable and creatively satisfying.
6. What has your experience been like working with Iqbal Khan, Gulki Joshi, and the rest of the cast?
Working with Iqbal, Gulki, and the entire cast has been wonderful. We share a lot of laughter between takes, which sometimes makes it hard to stay serious. At the same time, everyone is extremely professional and supportive. We give each other space to improvise, exchange ideas, and contribute to scenes. Half the battle is won when there's genuine friendship and comfort between actors, because that naturally reflects on screen.
7. Without giving away too much, what can viewers look forward to in Diggy's journey ahead?
Diggy's journey is set to become more significant in the coming episodes. There are interesting developments ahead involving him and the people around him, but viewers will have to wait and watch to see how everything unfolds.
Tune in to watch Yaadein every Monday to Saturday at 8:00 PM on Sony SAB.
