Tum Ho Naa Today Episode: Debina Bonnerjee Recalls Gurmeet Choudhary’s Unexpected Marriage Proposal

03 June 2026 Mumbai: The upcoming episode of Tum Ho Naa - Ghar Ki Superstar promises to bring a heartwarming and nostalgic moment as actress Debina Bonnerjee opens up about her very first meeting with husband Gurmeet Choudhary . In a candid conversation with host Rajeev Khandelwal , Debina fondly recalled how an unusual first interaction eventually turned into a lifelong love story.

Curious to know how the couple first crossed paths, Rajeev asked Debina, "aap log mile kaha pe, ye log bohot jannana chaha rahein hai, bohot log sochte honge aap set pe hi mile honge, aur kya yahi sach hai." Sharing the story, Debina said, "Nahi hum set pe nahi mile, mai jaise aai thi ek talent hunt show tha, shortcut mai bolti hu but acche se samjhati hu, to Bombay aai thi, humlog acting sikh rahe the, 30 days ke liye the ek hotel mai 15 ladki-15 ladke rukien the."

She further recalled how the two barely interacted initially until one breakfast conversation unexpectedly changed everything. Describing Gurmeet's bold and funny approach, she shared, "akele baithi breakfast kar rahi thi, to usko (Gurmeet) bhi koi jagha nahi mila, mere samne hi aake baitha, baithke mujh se altu-faltu baat kar raha tha, matlab betuki baate, ladke jab flirt karte hai betuki hi lagta hai."

Debina then revealed the surprising line Gurmeet said during their very first conversation, leaving everyone amused. She said, "Phir bola accha B wing mai to mai bhi rehta hu. To mai papa ko bhej du rishta leke, and it was like one of the first times." Reacting to the story, Rajeev jokingly remarked, "First meeting mai, isliye kehete hai jo bhi bolo soch samajh ke bolo, time leke bo lo."

Debina hilariously added that perhaps destiny had already decided their future together. Explaining how that one random statement eventually turned true, she said, "ussi time pe saraswati ma jeeb pe baith gaye the, it's called manifestation, aap muh se jo bhi nikalo, ek second ke liye bhi nikalo, mazak ke liye bhi naikalo, it might become true." She further admitted that at the time she found Gurmeet extremely strange and simply walked away from the conversation with a blank expression. However, fate brought them together again months later after she permanently shifted to Mumbai.

When Rajeev asked whether the conversation had ended there, Debina laughed and replied, "Ha, mujhe to laga isse jyada ajeeb kon hi baat kar sakta hai, like I don't even know him." As the conversation progressed, Debina became emotional while speaking about the quality in Gurmeet that truly made her fall in love with him, his relentless dedication and hard work during their struggling days in Mumbai. Recalling those early years, she shared, "I saw this thing of him, and I thought ki boss paisa, fame, aata jata rehta hai, but hard work insaan ka kabhi nahi chuta hai, so I knew he is the one."

She went on to describe how, while most newcomers would spend their nights partying and sleeping through the day, Gurmeet would wake up early every morning after parties and head straight to the beach for action practice, completely focused on building his career. It was this discipline and sincerity at such a young age that deeply impressed her and eventually convinced her that he was the right life partner. Left touched by the beautiful journey, Rajeev simply responded with a heartfelt, "Wahh."
