Ashnoor Kaur International Women's Day visit and Gentle On Me initiative

For this year's International Women's Day, Ashnoor Kaur chose to celebrate with women connected to the NGO, many of whom have overcome serious personal and social obstacles. Ashnoor Kaur listened to their journeys, which included stories of change, responsibility, and new skills, and described the experience as deeply motivating and spiritually strengthening.

Sharing the impact of the interaction, Ashnoor Kaur posted a long note about the visit and the women’s strength. The message reflected what Ashnoor Kaur promotes through Gentle On Me: that healing often begins when individuals trust themselves, refuse to give up, and keep moving ahead despite difficult situations.

"It's a women's day like no other! Truly inspirational... Celebrated with real life super women... And I don't usually post my visit to NGOs etc but this was empowering, and beautifully motivating to hear their life stories and yet see them courageously, smiling through and bravely facing everything with a positive mindset and a believe in self!! These women don't complain, rather upskill themselves and take accountability, fulfill responsibilities & take charge of their lives... strong women aren't accidents- may we know their stories & walk in their strength..." They're raised, they're shaped, they're chosen- may we know them, be them, raise them. Because behind every fearless women is the decision to believe in herself..."

Ashnoor Kaur International Women's Day message on resilience and self-belief

At a relatively early stage in a screen career, Ashnoor Kaur is building a parallel identity as someone who supports mental health and gentle self-discipline. Gentle On Me has evolved into a space where Indian girls and women are reminded to respect their limits, show kindness to themselves, and recognise everyday strength.

By choosing an NGO visit for International Women's Day, Ashnoor Kaur shifted attention from glamour to lived experience, highlighting women who rarely appear in headlines. The gesture reinforced her ongoing message that the spirit of Women's Day lies in celebrating resilience, personal growth, and how women quietly support one another through honest sharing.
