Diya Aur Baati Hum, 3rd January episode update written: Sandhya shows her room to the family and the room window opens to the ground. Bhabho tells Sandhya to change her clothes. Sandhya tells Suraj to give a file at the reception and changes into a saree. Bhabho sees a male cadet Zakir staying in the room in front of Sandhya’s and is upset. Bhabho goes to IPS Singh and tells that a guy has been stationed in front of Sandhya’s room and to change it. She is told that such a change is not done here as there is no difference in a lady and a man and they are trainees.

Meena changes the words in Emily’s letter making it sound rude. She gives it to Chhavi and Meena reads it aloud that Emily has told to send Pari’s food there. Meena poisons her thoughts and Chhavi gets enraged with Emily. She tells Emily that they shall plan something to ensure Emily is punished.

The watchman comes and informs that Sandhya has to submit the key to him as they have to do the room clean up. But Bhabho disagrees. Just then, IPS Singh comes and tells that the rules won’t be changed for anyone. Bhabho starts complaining to IPS Singh. Bhabho tells that in case of thefts what could be done. IPS Singh tells Sandhya that she should decide whether she has come to get trained or to celebrate festivals. She tells Sandhya that all rules should be followed and if not, she can leave immediately. Suraj convinces IPS Singh. Bhabho and Babasaa leave and Suraj explains to Sandhya that Bhabho will take time to understand this environment. Sandhya is still upset. They share a light moment. Suraj says he was proud to see his dream of Sandhya in the IPS uniform come true. He proclaims his love to Sandhya and Sandhya is very happy.
