Baatein Kuch Ankahee twist: Rajan Shahi, who has helmed shows like Anupamaa, Bidaai, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke, has launched a new drama on Star Plus. The Man with a midas touch has introduced a different daily soap that features a few of the actors, who earlier worked with him.

After the success of YRKKH and Anupamaa, Rajan Shahi is back with another show on the leading GEC. It replaced FALTU at 9pm slot from August 21. Titled Baatein Kuch Ankahee Si, the show focuses on the story of a 35-year-old singer and 40-year-old businessman.

Baatein Kuch Ankahee starring Mohit Malik and Sayli Salunkhe has received a good response from the audience. The show features a popular Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai actress, who played a key role in Shivangi Joshi and Mohsin Khan starrer.

Shivangi Joshi and Mohsin Khan quit Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai after the makers introduced a generation leap. Pranali Rathod and Harshad Chopda took over the charge of the show, playing the respective roles of Akshara and Abhimanyu.

Actress Kshitee Jog who was seen in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani as Rocky's(Ranveer Singh) mother, Punam Randhawa, now plays a cameo role in Baatein Kuch Ankahee Si. The talented actress is confident that the show will emerge as a TRP topper in the upcoming days. She opened up about her role in the drama, spilling the beans about her character.

"I have a special appearance. I'm playing the role of Vandana's (Sayli Salunkhe) mother, who didn't want her children to pursue music like her husband. She genuinely believes that there isn't much money in it, given that her husband didn't achieve much popularity," Kshitee was quoted as saying by IANS in a statement.

The actress revealed that her character discouraged her children from pursuing music as she feared that they would not be able to become successful. Jog described her character as a materialistic woman, who is unhappy with her daughter for becoming a singer.

The actress also opened up about working with Rajan Shahi and Directors Kut Production. "It's like a homecoming for me. I worked on 'Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai' for almost nine years before that, my first serial was directed by Rajan Shahi, 'Ghar Ki Lakshmi Betiyann'. I myself have seen DKP growing in front of my eyes. So this is an association that goes back for 15 years, at least. It truly feels like a homecoming for me, a return to my roots and the opportunity to engage with my craft," she said in a statement.
