Kavya Twist: Casting Director Shares BIG Update Before Launch Of Sumbul Touqeer-Mishkat Varma's Show

Kavya twist: It is difficult to control excitement as Sumbul Touqeer is making her comeback to the fiction space with a new show. After working with Star Plus and Colors channel, the TV diva is ready to rock and roll with Sony Entertainment Television's upcoming drama titled Kavya- Ek Jazbaa Ek Junoon.

Sumbul Touqeer Khan, who shot to fame with Imlie, is now gearing up to play an IAS officer in her new show. The 19-year-old will be paired opposite Mishkat Varma in Kavya, which will soon hit the silver screens. The show will showcase the story of a civil servant, who has to manage her married and professional life. How she strikes a balance between the two forms the crux of the story.

Remember Filmibeat was the first portal to reveal that Sumbul and Mishkat have shot for an interesting promo for Kavya. "Sumbul Touqeer and Mishkat Varma have shot the second promo of Kavya. It will be released in a day or two. The makers have planned a special surprise for the viewers as they wish to introduce the lead couple in style. Sumbul's hatke look will make the fans go gaga. The production house is leaving no stone unturned to leave a reverberating impact on the audience," a source earlier told us.

Filmibeat had debunked the rumours that suggested that Katha Ankahee would go off air and Kavya would replace it. Adnan Khan and Aditi Sharma's show is going nowhere and it will continue to air at 8:30pm slot.

Talking about Kavya's launch and time slot, a reliable source exclusively told us, "There's still time for the premiere of Sumbul Touqeer Khan's new show. It will most probably beam at a prime time slot. While Kaun Banega Crorepati 15 will run for 1.5 hours in the initial phase, the timings will be trimmed to one hour and this is when Kavya-Ek Jazba Ek Junoon will launch."

Kavya will be the next big launch on Sony Entertainment Television after Kaun Banega Crorepati 15. Amitabh Bachchan's popular reality show went on air on August 14, replacing Tina Datta and Jay Bhanushali starrer Hum Rahe Na Rahe Hum.

KAVYA UPDATE: NO IPS OFFICER IN SHOW

Contrary to the rumours floating on the internet, there's no IPS officer in the show. It was speculated that the show will showcase the story of an IAS officer, who gets married to an IPS officer. However, the casting and content development head at DJ Creative Unit, Vinamrata Bhojwani, has confirmed that the show won't feature any IPS officer.

When a Twitter (now known as X) user said that Kavya's former partner couldn't support her for being an IAS officer, Vinamrata mentioned that nobody is playing an IPS in the show. Her tweet read, "Nobody is an IPS in the show."
