After launching Shivangi Joshi and Kushal Tandon starrer Barsatein in July, the leading GEC introduced Amitabh Bachchan's Kaun Banega Crorepati 15 in its prime time weekday programming on August 14. And now, the channel is gearing up for the launch of Sumbul Touqeer's Kavya- Ek Jazbaa Ek Junoon.

Kavya will showcase the story of an IAS officer, who achieves her dreams after working hard in life. How she strikes a balance between professional and married life forms the crux of the story. Filmibeat was the first portal to reveal that Mishkat Varma will be playing the male lead.

The second promo of Kavya featuring Mishkat and Sumbul has already captured the attention of the viewers. "Mishkat, known for his work in shows like Aur Pyaar Hogya and Nisha Aur Uske Cousins, has signed the dotted lines for Kavya- Ek Jazba Ek Junoon. He perfectly fits the bill as we are confident that he will look amazing with Sumbul Touqeer. The screen test was enough to make us believe that we have a perfect jodi for the show," a source told us.

KAVYA TO REPLACE KATHA ANKAHEE? LATEST UPDATE

While speculations were rife that Katha Ankahee would bid adieu to the audience, the show starring Adnan Khan and Aditi Sharma is saved. A source close to the industry stated, "What rubbish! How many times do we have to squash such rumours. Katha Ankahee is one of the most popular shows on Sony TV. It not only enjoys a significant fan following in India but across the world. It has been doing amazing in different markets and Sony TV is in no mood to pull the plug on it. Unlike Hum Rahe Na Rahe Hum, it is not under the scanner."

KAVYA TIME SLOT: SUMBUL TOUQEER VS FAHMAAN KHAN ON TV?

Wondering when will Kavya launch on Sony TV? While the makers have commenced the shoot, the channel is yet to decide the premiere date and time slot.

A reliable source shared a spicy update about the time slot of Kavya. "The channel is still deciding the timings of Sumbul Touqeer's upcoming show. It can be either 7:30pm or 10pm. Things will be clear in the next few days. One thing is clear- the channel has high hopes from the show and they are leaving no stone unturned to present it on a grand scale."

DHARAMPATNII TO GO OFF AIR?

"If Kavya gets the 10pm slot, Sumbul's show will compete with Fahmaan Khan starrer DharamPatnii. While gossip mills suggest that DharamPatni has received an extension of six months, it is expected to go off air to make way for Salman Khan's Bigg Boss 17," the khabri added.
