Sony Entertainment Television's popular reality show MasterChef India 7 came to an end after entertaining the audience for thirteen weeks. All eyes were glued to the television sets as MasterChef aired a blockbuster finale episode on Friday (March 31). Fans couldn't control their excitement afer Nayanjyoti Saikia was announced as the winner of the show.

The young lad from Assma defeated Santa Sarmah and Suvarna Bagul to lift the winner's trophy of MasterChef India season seven. Suvarna Bagul Santa Sarmah and Nayanjyoti Saikia competed in a tough challenge that required them to make delectable dishes. In the end, Nayanjyoti defeated the other two finalists, winning the show.

"I had a simple dream and that was to go to MasterChef India and cook, but now I feel like all my goals in life are complete. I did not only go to MasterChef, but I also got the apron and winning this intense food competition feels surreal! I had my self-doubts, but the three judges motivated us so much, especially Chef Vikas who has helped me so much since the day of the auditions," Nayanjyoti said in a statement that was issued by Sony TV.

Santa Sarmah was announced as the first runner-up and while Mumbai's Suvarna Bagul finished as the second runner-up. The duo got a cheque of Rs 5 lakhs from Sony TV team. The winner Nayanjyoti and the two runners-up were also honoured with medals during the grand finale.

"Nayanjyoti deserves all this and more. He came to the kitchen as an amateur home cook and the growth that we have seen in him has been exponential, making him the right choice for this win. He is grounded, he is rooted in the culture of his state and he's willing to learn so I hope this experience will give him the chance to grow," chef Garima Arora said in a statement, expressing her thoughts on Nayanjyoti's victory.
